On May 11, Alibaba's large language model, Tongyi Qianwen, officially launched its AI shopping features after achieving full integration with the e-commerce platform Taobao.
This innovative service offers users two primary access points. First, within the Tongyi Qianwen app, users can engage in natural language conversations with the AI to facilitate product selection, comparison, and direct purchasing on Taobao. Second, the Taobao app now features a "Tongyi Qianwen AI Shopping Assistant," enabling AI-powered shopping experiences such as virtual try-ons, AI-driven discount calculations, and AI-assisted low-price product snatching.
Alibaba's initiative marks an industry first, establishing a complete AI shopping value chain. This integration realizes a full-lifecycle AI closed-loop for shopping, spanning from initial product recommendation and user ordering to fulfillment and after-sales service, thereby introducing a more intelligent and efficient shopping paradigm for consumers.
