Anthropic Projects First Quarterly Profit as Q2 Revenue Hits $10.9 Billion

On May 21st, reports revealed that AI powerhouse Anthropic is poised to achieve its first-ever quarterly profit, fueled by a surge in demand for its generative AI solutions. Financial disclosures shared with investors suggest a major turning point for the startup's fiscal health.

Anthropic projects its second-quarter revenue to reach approximately $10.9 billion, representing a more than 100% increase from the previous quarter. Furthermore, the company expects to record an operating profit of $559 million for the quarter ending in June. This rapid growth highlights the accelerating commercialization of large language models (LLMs) in the enterprise sector.

Amidst this AI boom, established players are recalibrating their workforces. On May 20th, financial software leader Intuit announced a 17% reduction in its full-time staff. The company stated the layoffs are designed to streamline the organization and enhance agility and focus. Intuit expects to incur restructuring charges between $300 million and $340 million as it pivots toward a more AI-centric and efficient operational model.
