Google to Pay SpaceX $920M Monthly for Compute to Power Gemini Enterprise

SpaceX has secured yet another lucrative revenue stream just ahead of its highly anticipated IPO. According to an SEC filing submitted on Friday, Google has agreed to pay SpaceX $920 million a month for compute capacity from October 2026 to June 2029.

The filing revealed that this compute power includes "approximately 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other related components." Starting in 2027, either party can terminate the agreement with a 90-day notice. Google explained in a statement that the compute is critically needed to support its agentic AI platform, Gemini Enterprise.

"Google Cloud and SpaceX are long-time partners," a Google Cloud spokesperson said. "This is a short-term, timely agreement to ensure we have bridge capacity to meet surging customer demand for our agent platform, Gemini Enterprise, which has been even higher than we expected." SpaceX has not yet responded to requests for comment.

This massive deal mirrors another high-profile partnership SpaceX secured with Anthropic, which was disclosed in SpaceX's S-1 filing last month. Anthropic is paying SpaceX $1.25 billion a month through May 2029 to utilize capacity from SpaceX's massive Colossus data centers.

"This structure allows us to monetize unused compute capacity in our infrastructure, while still permitting reallocation of the capacity for our own internal initiatives if needed in the future," SpaceX stated in its S-1 filing.
